SEAMSEAL BR
Solvent release rubber bedding sealant, which forms a tight elastic seal. Very good adhesion to a number of building materials.
APPLICATIONS
Suitable for bedding aluminium window frames into timber subframes; sealing seams in joints and ductwork; roofing and cladding sealing where a thin joint is required e.g. flashings; sealing profiled foams filler and general bedding and joint sealing in automotive, leisure and boat building.
Good performance in low movement joints
Excellent weather sealing properties
Capable of accommodating some movement
Adheres well to a wide variety of surfaces
Good resistance to mould
Good resistance to dilute acids and alkalis
Remains pliable once cured
PROPERTIES
Application temperature range: +5°C to +30°C rate of cure will depend on ambient temperature and relative humidity.
Priming: Primers are not normally required for good adhesion to most non-porous surfaces.
Shelf life: 12 months in unopened packaging when stored in cool, dry conditions.
Skinning time: An initial skin will form after approximately 4 hours.
Working time: Tooling can be carried out with a wet spatula within 10 minutes of application.
INSTRUCTIONS
Joint design: Please consult the Technical Information Sheet entitled ‘Joint design for cartridge based products’ prior to application.
Surface preparation: All surfaces must be clean, dry and free from frost, grease and loose materials. Apply primer if required. In situations where an especially neat finish is required, use masking tape to cover the face edges of the joint and remove immediately once tooling has been completed
Cut the top of the screw thread off the cartridge and screw on the nozzle. Cut nozzle to correct diameter for joint size. Apply using a skeleton or powered gun into the joint ensuring good contact with surfaces.
Tooling: Tool immediately with a spatula wetted with white spirit within 10 minutes of application.
Detaflex 4000
Characteristics
Permanently elastic, polyurethane sealant
Medium modulus
Has a high resistance to ageing, weather conditions and low and high temperatures
Good chemical resistance
Excellent adhesion to almost all building materials
Can be repainted. Preliminary tests may be recommended.
Very easy to apply
Applications
Is suited for the automobile industry, for carriage work, cool trucks, caravans, shipping, and all elastic joints and construction-joints in the building industry.
Has an excellent adhesion to most materials such as wood, concrete, metals, anodized aluminum, natural and artificial stone.
Use a primer on porous surfaces and on plastics.
Parasilico AM85-1
Characteristics
Neutral oxime curing, 1-component silicone sealant (RTV-1)
Has a high resistance to ageing, weather conditions, UV and chemical products
Excellent adhesion to almost all building materials
Very easy to apply
Permanent elasticity
Applications
Has an adhesive strength without primer on the majority of materials used in building and engineering industries such as treated wood, aluminium, steel, abs, stainless steel, anodised steel, PVC, etc.
Appropriate for placing laminated glass (does not affect the layer PVB) and double glass (does not affect the butyl sealing)
Can also be used on alkali surfaces such as concrete, bricks. A primer is recommended.
